The last canister of Lincoln Logs arrived today! The #892 set! Now I have all three of the canisters I had growing up: #890 (the smallest), 891 and 892 (the largest)! These sets are incomplete and missing pieces or have some broken pieces, which made them affordable to purchase. Complete sets are extremely rare.
I just LOVED playing with Lincoln Logs for many years! The first chance I get, I want to build my favorite log cabin! LOL! I will be sure to take pictures and will share!
My second kaleidoscope arrived today. I bought two so I could keep one in my collection and use the other to let my grandson enjoy during his next visit here! I will teach him to be gentle with it and monitor him to ensure that care is taken not to damage it. He is three and a half years old and is now mature enough to understand how to take care of things like this. But if worse comes to worse, I have two of these so that one can be maintained in good condition. Here is my kaleidoscope collection!
The last of my 1/12 scale box toys have arrived! These are for dollhouses and represent vintage items on a small scale. They are not toys. Just boxes made of thicker paper, made to appear as though they are real. I have been collecting lots of these! They are far less costly than the real thing, and take up far less space! In the tiny space I have, these work perfectly! They are a lot of fun to collect! Some are under $5, some are $5 to $10, and sometimes they are over $10. It all depends on the item that they represent.:
There are also 1/12 scale toys available. For example, I have a vintage bubble pop toy, a canister of Lincoln logs, a Viewmaster, and some other items. These are made of plastic and made to look real. The canister of Lincoln Logs includes only the canister. There are no miniature Lincoln Logs inside.
Here are examples!
This one was around $30 but it is made of plastic and is quite detailed.
Well, here are the new additions!
That's a lot of vintage memories! Nice! Like I said, we had the newer Lincoln Logs with our girls, only the parts that were primary colors on the vintage sets were actually in all different shades of pink. They didn't play with them quite as often as I would have hoped. Probably because they got them so much later on, when they were starting to outgrow toys in general. Go figure, they'd play with them forever while at Bass Pro's Winter Wonderland. To me, that was the ideal Christmas present that year. I also bought them an oversized Tik-Tac-Toe placemat, everything was super-sized. They would also sit and play with it each and every time we went to Bass Pro. Again, I thought -what a perfect Christmas present! And you want to know something? -I don't even think they ever once opened it up to play with it at all! I think it's still in the same packaging! I should re-wrap it for this upcoming Christmas because I guarantee you they don't even realize it's in the game closet at all by this point! ~LOL!
