Tonight I FINALLY sold Kimberly Asleep, an open edition! I originally posted her for $400 plus $30 shipping, handling plus insurance. I gradually reduced her all of the way down to $330! Not sure why there was little interest in her. I had 25 Watchers but no bites! I finally took down the listing after five months a few weeks ago but reposted her a few days later to get a fresh start, at $320 plus $30 for shipping, handling and insurance. Maybe lots of people are looking for a Reborn that is $350 or less, including shipping. I was hoping more would see her at this price point.
A few days ago someone messaged me to ask if I would take $270! Not! I had her listed as Buy Now. I did not have an option for offers because I wasn’t willing to sell her for less than $320! My rock bottom! Any less than that and I would have rather kept her and tried again at a later time! I don’t know why people message with offers if the offer option isn’t available! Someone else messaged me last night to ask for more photos with “different” lighting! I didn’t have time to do a photo shoot. She also wanted to know when I purchased her, which was right in the listing! LOL! I don’t have the patience for people who don’t read the listing! With tonight’s purchase, this person lost out and I didn’t have to go the distance to get her sold! I know, I’m a bitch! Just in a super pissy mood tonight trying to finish up my taxes by tomorrow! My own fault for waiting until the last minute! But I’ve been busy! My grandchildren are more important, LOL!! But tonight’s sale reduced my impatience, pissy/bitchy mood a bit!
Also, the buyer messaged me and said she has been wanting one of Alicia’s dolls for a long time and it just never seemed to work out. Alicia is definitely one of the more popular Reborn artists out there! Her dolls sell so fast! It’s like winning the lottery if you find out she has a new one listed and it has not sold yet when you go to the listing!
But I did have a bit of a challenge with this buyer. She purchased and paid through PayPal but then realized she selected the wrong payment method in PayPal! So she requested cancellation so she could re-do the purchase with the correct payment method in PayPal. When I started to approve the cancellation, it appeared I was being charged over $50 on eBay fees! So I called my sister to see if she knew what would happen. I didn’t want to pay selling fees twice! And I wasn’t sure if the buyer would follow through and re-purchase her. Buyers offer suffer buyers remorse and look for excuses to cancel. I wasn’t sure if this was the case. My sister had this happen on Mercari but not eBay so she wasn’t sure how the fees worked in this case but she found 3 phone numbers for me to call eBay. I tried all 3 numbers and got the same thing. AI! No help at all! I finally gave up. All I wanted to know is whether or not the seller fees applied with a buyer cancellation request prior to shipping. Simple as that! AI needs a lot more work but companies keep relying on it more and more! It’s very frustrating! So I finally took the risk and approved the cancellation and opted to re-list her once the cancellation was processed. I wasn’t sure how long it would take for the cancellation to process and get her re-listed. I thought it was going to take a day or two as the date they had to finalize the cancellation was listed as being tomorrow. I messaged the buyer to let her know I had approved the cancellation and to let her know it would auto re-list once cancellation was finalized; and that I wasn’t sure how long it would take. But, within a couple of hours the buyer completed the re-purchase as soon as she was listed! She must have been watching real close for the re-listing to occur because she was right on top of it! Very nice buyer! She messaged me the following. Kimberly will have an adorable brother! So cute!!! 👍
I needed to downsize my Reborn collection as I had way too many! I had 8 Reborns! Crazy! I am now down to 4 Reborns! Still a bit much but I cannot part with any of them! It would be such a difficult decision on which one(s) to part with! Maybe after a while I will feel differently about this.
I NEVER, EVER thought I had it in me to sell one of my favorites but I sold my Kodi Bear boy about 6 months ago for $600 plus $50 for shipping, handling and insurance. He sold within a few hours after listing him! He was a sold out limited edition (SOLE), #1231/2000. He was created by Alicia, just like Kimberly!
About a week later I sold Primrose Asleep, also a sold out limited edition (SOLE), #494/1250 for $600 plus $30 for shipping, handling and insurance. He was also created by the artist, Alicia!
A couple of days later I sold Kovu, an almost sold out limited edition, #272/800, for $390 plus $30 shipping, handling and insurance.
So, here is my current Reborn collection! My favorites of all time and the ones I don’t think I could ever part with!
