Yesterday I was contemplating opening the vintage package of original Silly Putty to see if the putty is still intact! I could not bring myself to open it up but I wanted so badly to see if the putty inside was still good, and if it is, I thought it would be so fun to play with it! LOL! If I open the packaging and the putty is still good, no value would be lost. But if I open it up and the putty is bad, it would be a total loss. However, these are fairly common and I did not pay much for it anyway. So I was leaning toward opening it up to check it out when I had more time to enjoy it! However, at the same time, someone actually kept it sealed for years! In a few seconds, I would be undoing this! LOL!
This morning I discovered that I could peek into the Silly Putty egg to see the putty, and it is intact! I was even able to touch it enough to know that it is still intact! I have not removed it from the original packaging yet. But I have pretty much decided that when I have more time to enjoy it, I will open it so I can play with the putty a little! LOL!
I also purchased another small item last evening! It has not shipped yet but I can’t wait for it to arrive! A vintage popper toy! I forgot all about these! They were so much fun! I did not have this one but I cannot recall which character(s) I had growing up!

Are you sure the putty is vintage? It does still exist and it's in the identical packaging as the one shown above. If you look over on the Walmart website they have it there too for $1.99. I hope you didn't pay a lot for it or someone didn't try to represent it as being vintage when it's not. I just compared the back packaging to the one on Walmart .com and it's identical. I remember those vintage poppers on the spring! Super cute!
