Another item arrived today and has been added to my tiny nursery! I had one of these as a child in the late 1960’s. But at some point I decided to give him a crew cut, just like my uncle’s crew cut! I was about five years old at the time. All of the fur on his head was cut off super short, leaving barely any fur behind! I have to say I actually did a really good job! It was all perfectly even throughout! There were no varying lengths of fur there. It was all perfecting uniform! But I had to live with that decision for years! LOL!
So, here is my new vintage monkey, who does not have a crew cut! And I don’t have any plans to replicate my youth either! LOL! He looks much better than my old one did!
I spent some time reorganizing a few things in my tiny nursery over the last couple of days. My little stool/table came in yesterday for my vintage lamp and has been assembled and put into place. I also added an adaptor to my ceiling light that has two outlets and also holds a light bulb. I ran an extension cord from the socket there, along the beam near the ceiling and over near the lamp, as well as my sunset/sunrise clock so I could plug that in too. It’s so nice to have power to these items now!
Extension cord run as neatly as possible to minimize visibility:
I also needed to find a new place for my two Amish prairie hats as they were in the way of the lamp.
Before:
After; I like them better here anyway! Far more visible!
I reorganized the top of the nightstand. My little battery-operated lamp was too close to my new vintage lamp and they looked funny together. So it is now on the opposite side of the night stand. My vintage glass piggy bank also arrived yesterday and was added to the nightstand.
Before:
After:
I still need to straighten out the wires there a bit to make them appear neater. I just ran out of time to get to it for now. I also store all of my vintage original boxes here!
I also moved my vintage Fisher Price xylophone out in front of the tiny playpen where it is more visible, along with my new vintage monkey! The xylophone was located on top of the lower side of storage cubes next to the vintage Fisher Price school bus. After removing the xylophone from there, I was able to reposition my vintage metal roller skates and keys for better visibility. I was not able to locate a before an after photo of the school bus, xylophone and roller skates together for comparison.
And I reorganized my stuffed animals a bit to maximize space. I did not have the large vintage polar bear pushed back as far as he could go, but now he is, so this created a little more space to change the display to look much nicer. It does not appear as overcrowded this way. I like it much better this way! Isn’t my polar bear adorable?
Anyway, before photo:
After photo; not a huge improvement but any improvement is better than none! Actually, I think the photos don’t capture the change very well. It looks better in person.
Anyway, I think I captured all of the changes over the last day or two! Here’s the entire photo shoot! Enjoy!
And a little photo shoot of my Reborn, and full body silicone gal, doll collection!

This next item is vintage but unused (I wouldn’t purchase a used one of these, LOL) brings back the memories of the very early days when I used to go to the YMCA in Melrose, Mass for swimming lessons! Reminder of fun times! I loved going going there!

I just searched for the Melrose YMCA online and they’re still there! I just viewed the video and even the pool and pool area are pretty much the same as the memory I have had of it! It has been maintained well with not a whole lot of change! And the large room they show after showing the exercise room is very familiar to me! We used to each lunch there when we went to day camp there on occasion! Abc this brings me back to my memory of my old thermos with glass liner, which held my Campbells Chicken and Stars soup! Those old glass thermoses kept the soup pretty warm! I used to love the tiny star-shaped noodles! But I can’t believe it’s still in the same building! I thought that old building would have been long gone by now! I used to go there about 53 years ago! And the building was old back then! Looking at the video it appears they have done a great job maintaining this old building!
So strange how a simple, vintage, swimming nose clip can bring back memories like this! This is why I’m adding it to my collection. It’s also a very cheap vintage item! I’m sure I’m the only weirdo in this world who wants as this item! LOL!!
New items for my miniature dollhouse collection; little furry slippers-I have two pair coming!
And a bunch of miniature, dollhouse box toys-boxes only!
The vintage lamp looks perfect now! Perfect visibility! You've truly maximized your space and made it all very functional! Each year we got to Bass Pro's Winter Wonderland for family photo opportunities and to see Santa. They've had a table full of Lincoln Logs each and every year. I finally broke down and bought the girls a couple of sets for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was a total hit. One set in particular has pink colors to build a Little Prairie Farmhouse. It comes with pink doors and windows. A vintage toy with a bit of a modernized twist. I do remember those nose blockers for swimming. I couldn't swim without wearing one. I am sure the anticipation relating to those few remaining items must really add to your enjoyment. ...Sometimes I think the waiting is the best part! Everything sure looks amazing! Enjoy it!
