My vintage 1960’s Boudoir Lamp with Shade has arrived and has been added!
Works beautifully!
This is the only spot that it will fit in my tiny nursery.
I need some sort of stool to elevate it as high as possible but low enough for the lamp to clear the slanted ceiling. I placed the lamp on top of some boxes so I could measure the maximum height for ordering the stool.
Here is the stool that has been ordered! It will fit perfectly here and will elevate the lamp just perfectly! It will be here on Tuesday!
My vintage extra lamp shade arrived too. I ordered this lamp shade before I saw the lamp. The lamps were so costly I decided to order the lamp shade only. But after I ordered it I found the lamp at an incredible deal! It was $10 cheaper than the lamp shade alone and the lamp shade that came with the lamp is in much better condition! Go figure, LOL!
Here is the lamp shade purchased by itself before I found the great deal on the full lamp with lamp shade:
My vintage plastic bib with food catcher pocket has also arrived!
And more miniature box toys have arrived!
- Sorting Blocks
- Fisher Price Desk
- Fisher Price School Bus
- Crayons
- Fisher Price Telephone
- Fisher Price Cash Register
- Fisher Price Snoopy
- Playdoh 20-Pack

My
Not sure if I posted the Fisher Price Action Garage, boom box, Etch A Sketch, Wooly Willy Magnetic Toy, Light Brite, and Charlotte’s Web book yet. I believe I did but, just in case:
The following miniature items are not here yet but are due to arrive early next week!
And these adorable miniature fuzzy slippers! I think I ordered pink and blue (or yellow maybe)? I can’t recall! They might fit my Topper Dawn dolls!
And these full-size items have been purchased for my tiny nursery, but are not here yet; due neater this week:
I had this monkey back in either the late 1960’s, or early 1970’s, as a young child!
I also had this same piggy bank as a very young child. It might have been from when I was born in 1965 or received when I was a bit older but, still, as a very young child; but is definitely mid to late 1960’s.
I never had one of these Fisher Price radios but sure loved to play with my friends’ radios!
I also found an original box for my vintage Fisher Price Xylophone! This will enhance the value of it a little!
I happened upon these vintage Sesame Street finger puppets by accident! I had totally forgotten all about these! So I decided to add them to my vintage collection.

I also sent an offer on this Grover Sesame Street stuffed animal but I am still waiting for the seller to accept it. Another seller had since made an offer on one, too, that is $1 less than the one I made an offer on, including shipping and handling. This purchase remains on hold. If the seller accepts my offer, then I will have to decline the offer that was made. If the seller declines my offer, I’ll accept the offer that was made to me, if it is still available. I wish the seller that I made the offer to would either accept or deny it! I made the offer last night! Most sellers get back to you within an hour or so, even though they have something like 24 hours. I have never run into this situation before! I wish I could retract my offer and accept the other seller’s offer instead! Then one of these would be mine and all paid for! But I am almost certain that I will end up with one or the other seller’s Grover in the end. There are no other watchers for either one. But if the seller declines my offer and the other one is no longer available, I will need to shop other options and will get one when I find a another great deal on one!

These next items aren’t from my childhood but from my son’s childhood in the late 80’s to early 90’s! But they are considered vintage now! I have not added them to my tiny nursery yet as my grandchildren play with these. When they outgrow them, they will be added to my collection!
This next item was purchased within the last couple of years. Fisher Price has been making these for years! Although this one is not vintage, it is like the one I played with as a child! My grandchildren play with this now but once they outgrow it, this will be added to my collection! Since my grandchildren live out of state, this toy does not get played with often. I anticipate it will remain in perfect condition for my collection! And eventually, just like the toys I played with as a child, and the toys my son played with as a child, this toy will become vintage too; and there will be three generations of vintage toys! Cool!

I have run out of ideas for my tiny nursery and miniature nursery! And I have very limited space available in both my tiny and miniature nurseries! Anything that I have thought of that I do not have was either so rare it is not available anywhere, or if found, was way more than I was willing to spend! Some items I paid a lot for, like my vintage 1963 InfantSeat that I paid nearly $185 plus shipping for! But I just had to have it and I was willing to pay for it, especially since this seat came with the original box and manufacturer manual, and everything (seat, box, manual) were all in perfect condition! Aside from my Reborn Dolls and full body silicone doll, this was my largest purchase in my tiny nursery!
But I have absolutely no regrets! I’m thrilled to have won the bid on this item! There was a bidding war at the end of the auction and with seconds to go, I upped my final max bid on eBay quickly to $201 and won it a fraction of a second after entering it! I was that close to losing the auction! So exciting!
I felt a little guilty, as I am sure the other bidder(s) were so let down with losing out on this rare, vintage jewel! I know I would have been! These seats are super rare and so difficult to find! And even when they are available to buy, I have never seen one with the original box or the manual! So this seat was a HUGE find and worth every penny! I could potentially be the only owner of one that actually has one in mint condition with the original box AND the manual! And the box and manual are both in mint condition! I would not doubt that this is the only “package” in existence today! If I am wrong, there could not be more than one or two out there that are as good as this package, which is perfect! It does not get any better than this!
I had a seat just like this for my son in the late 1980’s and tossed it when done with it. I might have paid around $10 at the time for it? I likely bought it at Kmart, possibly Child World? And it was in perfect, new condition when I tossed it! I did not have the original box or manual at that time. But it would not have mattered. These seats go for big bucks today, regardless. Even seats that are in fair condition (i.e. cracks, stains, torn seat cushion, missing straps) still fetch a high price of well over $100 and closer to $200 with the original box. If I had only known!
I believe this seat must have been discontinued soon after my son was born in 1988 as they were dangerous if not used with extreme caution! Some people were using them as car seats! Many would put the baby in them on the kitchen table and not remain right there with the baby! Would go off to pick up dishes or whatever! That might be fine for a newborn that hardly moves. But I still would never have done this. I primarily used mine when seated in the living room with the seat on the floor right next to me. I never really trusted these. The only reason I bought one at the time was because I had one as an infant and thought it would be neat to have my son sit in one too!
The instructions say this seat can be used for infants up to 12 months! Oh my God! Were they nuts? LOL! I never used the one I had for my son past a month old or so! Once babies start getting more mobile, like trying to roll over or anything like that, these seats were unsafe unless an adult was right there with them to ensure no tipping or sliding! Also, back in the old days, parents used to carry their infants in these seats! These seats are not strong enough unless it has a newborn in it. After a month or two, these seats are so unsafe!
But I am thrilled to have this item among my collection! It is my favorite vintage find! And will never be used for a real baby! I just wonder how many close calls there were with these seats, and how many babies were injured in this seats, or possibly died in these seats? Especially when used as a car seat! But, back in the 1960’s, and even into the 1970’s parents used to hold their babies in the car. I remember my sister being placed into the baby carriage after removing it from the wheeled frame and placed on the back seat! It was too large to strap in using it the swag belt; one of those solid, blue, baby carriages! Even if it was strapped into place securely, she was still just lying down in it with no straps to hold her in place. If a hard breaking situation or a bad enough accident occurred, she could have just flown right out of it! So I guess, maybe, using this plastic seat as a car seat might have been safer than the baby carriage solution! It might have been enough to secure the baby to prevent him or her from flying through the air through the windshield, for example, I suppose!
Anyway, this has been, by far, my most exciting vintage purchase to date for my tiny nursery!
Here is my Kodi Bear limited edition Reborn doll displayed in it! He is an older Reborn baby doll; he wears size 6-9 months clothes. But I would never have a real baby, especially at this age, use this seat! That would be nuts! LOL!
But this seat is great for my vintage collection and to display my Reborn (and full body silicone) doll collection! It will make for some great photo shoots for each doll in my collection when I get around to it!
Kodi Bear wearing the vintage plastic bib! I actually remember wearing bibs like this as a toddler! But I also remember that the good catcher pocket really didn’t catch many dropped pieces of food or crumbs! It had to be positioned so that it was open enough to catch stuff. But it rarely stayed wide open by itself to actually catch food!
Hope you enjoyed the latest add ons to my collection! That’s all of it for now! Please see previous blogs to see everything! Enjoy!
Like I said, it's like a trip down memory lane! Such cool detail with those vintage toy boxes, etc. I am absolutely blown away! Love the lamp too! That small table will definitely bring it up just enough to be able to see it a whole lot better! Very creative! Love it all! Nice nursery for sure!!!
