More arrivals Today!

The last canister of Lincoln Logs arrived today! The #892 set! Now I have all three of the canisters I had growing up: #890 (the smallest), 891 and 892 (the largest)! These sets are incomplete and missing pieces or have some broken pieces, which made them affordable to purchase. Complete sets are extremely rare.

I just LOVED playing with Lincoln Logs for many years! The first chance I get, I want to build my favorite log cabin! LOL! I will be sure to take pictures and will share!

I have them all placed where they fit within my tiny nursery. It would have been nice to be able to keep all three displayed together; however, with limited space, this is an impossibility! But I can always reorganize and make improvements too! I have had to shuffle things around as new items arrive. Once all items are here, I could do some more reorganizing if I think of any new ideas.

My second kaleidoscope arrived today. I bought two so I could keep one in my collection and use the other to let my grandson enjoy during his next visit here! I will teach him to be gentle with it and monitor him to ensure that care is taken not to damage it. He is three and a half years old and is now mature enough to understand how to take care of things like this. But if worse comes to worse, I have two of these so that one can be maintained in good condition. Here is my kaleidoscope collection!

The last of my 1/12 scale box toys have arrived! These are for dollhouses and represent vintage items on a small scale. They are not toys. Just boxes made of thicker paper, made to appear as though they are real. I have been collecting lots of these! They are far less costly than the real thing, and take up far less space! In the tiny space I have, these work perfectly! They are a lot of fun to collect! Some are under $5, some are $5 to $10, and sometimes they are over $10. It all depends on the item that they represent.:

There are also 1/12 scale toys available. For example, I have a vintage bubble pop toy, a canister of Lincoln logs, a Viewmaster, and some other items. These are made of plastic and made to look real. The canister of Lincoln Logs includes only the canister. There are no miniature Lincoln Logs inside.

Here are examples!

This one was around $30 but it is made of plastic and is quite detailed.

Box toys are typically under $10 each, many are under $5. It is better to buy a number of these at a time from one seller due to the shipping costs.

This boom box has a lot of detail to it!

Well, here are the new additions!

And here they are placed in my miniature nursery!

More Updates!

Yesterday I was contemplating opening the vintage package of original Silly Putty to see if the putty is still intact! I could not bring myself to open it up but I wanted so badly to see if the putty inside was still good, and if it is, I thought it would be so fun to play with it! LOL! If I open the packaging and the putty is still good, no value would be lost. But if I open it up and the putty is bad, it would be a total loss. However, these are fairly common and I did not pay much for it anyway. So I was leaning toward opening it up to check it out when I had more time to enjoy it! However, at the same time, someone actually kept it sealed for years! In a few seconds, I would be undoing this! LOL!

This morning I discovered that I could peek into the Silly Putty egg to see the putty, and it is intact! I was even able to touch it enough to know that it is still intact! I have not removed it from the original packaging yet. But I have pretty much decided that when I have more time to enjoy it, I will open it so I can play with the putty a little! LOL!

I also purchased another small item last evening! It has not shipped yet but I can’t wait for it to arrive! A vintage popper toy! I forgot all about these! They were so much fun! I did not have this one but I cannot recall which character(s) I had growing up!

Well, this is the latest! See my previous blogs for all other updates! Enjoy!

Latest Additions!

Over the last few days, more items have arrived and have been added to my tiny nursery! I am still trying to come up with a name to call my tiny nursery as my sister suggested; however, I have not been able to think of a good name for it. But, no hurries!

Well, here are the latest additions!

Kermit the frog arrived a few days ago and is in one of my recent, previous blogs. Grover arrived today and makes a nice addition to my tiny nursery! The two look great together! Nice contrast between the green and blue colors!

My second of three canisters of vintage Lincoln logs! This is the #891 set. The #890 set arrived a few days ago and is in a previous blog. Set #892 is still on the way.

I bought two of these vintage kaleidoscopes; one for me and one to use next time my grandson comes to visit! This one has arrived but the second one is still en route. I will decide which one to leave with my collection and which one to use for my grandson. The one that is in better condition will stay with my collection, for obvious reasons. I believe they are both in about the same condition but I will be able to take a closer look once the second one arrives.

My other vintage kaleidoscope has also arrived; a different style.

Here are both kaleidoscopes on display!

My vintage Christmas tree push toy has arrived and is in excellent, working condition! So fun!

Here it is on display on the nightstand.

My non-vintage swimming nose clip arrived today! It is exactly the same as the one I used as a very young child! I don’t think most people would buy a vintage one if these unless it was sealed and definitely unused, LOL! But I was not about to risk it, which is why I decided to buy new! But it still represents a vintage memory!

Also received is my vintage plastic rain bonnet with pretty plastic case. Most ladies kept rain bonnets in their purse to save for a rainy day! LOL! They came in a variety of different packages. Some were pretty, like this one, and others were just simple, tiny, plastic sleeves. As a very young child, if it started raining outside, there was always at least one lady that had an extra one handy for me to wear! But I would never, ever be caught by any friends wearing one of these! LOL!

Latest nightstand display!

My Squirmles arrived yesterday! I love the colors! These are not actually vintage Squirmles. It is difficult to find the vintage ones. These are a modern version and different company as well. But, they appear to be exactly the same as the old Squirmles I had back in the old days! So cute! The little pieces of white cardboard in front of each one are for the clear, nylon string. I decided not to unwind the strings just yet in order to avoid tangling. When I have more time, I will find a better location and will likely unwind part of the string. They will look better when I am able to improve on their display.

The vintage Fisher Price Little People nursery set arrived a few days ago, and was posted in a recent blog already. However, at that time I only had one of the babies. The second one arrived yesterday and makes a nice addition to this so display!

My second vintage talking clock arrived yesterday! When I purchased the first one, I had not seen this one yet! But as soon as I saw this one, I realized that this was actually the model I had as a small child! This model is also older, and rarer than the first one, which is likely why I had not come across this one in previous searches. The red ones are actually rather plentiful. The brown ones are out there but are not anywhere near as common! I still enjoy having both of them! They are a nice addition to my vintage collection!

The original, vintage silly putty! I can’t bring myself to open this up but I want so badly to see if the putty inside is still good, and if it is, it would be so fun to play with it! LOL! If I open the packaging and the putty I still good, no value is lost. But if I open it up and the putty is bad, it would be a total loss. However, these are fairly common and I did not pay much for it anyway. So I am leaning toward opening it up to check it out when I have more time to enjoy it! However, at the same time, someone actually kept it sealed for years! In a few seconds, I would be undoing this! LOL! No hurries for deciding. We shall see!

My vintage fuzzy bunny piggy bank! I had one of these as a child! I am not positive but I believe it was given to me by my grandmother when she came to visit from New York. One of my other sisters had one too. One day up like this one, and the other was laying down. I do not recall which one was actually mine. But this little guy is just fine for my collection!

Well, that’s it for now! More items on the way! I believe I’m at the tail end of my vintage collecting! Once the remaking items arrive, I will have very limited space for more. As a result, I will be very picky about what gets added moving forward. I am also out of ideas for more items. But there may be things that pop into my head in the future and I will only purchase items that I just MUST have, and want BADLY! I do not plan to purchase anymore items that would be just nice to have added to my collection.

Here are the remaining items that have not yet arrived. Most will arrive within the next few days!

Lincoln Logs #892:

When this arrives, it will be placed to the right of the mini playpen, opposite the #891 set.

My #890 set is displayed here:

Vintage Fisher Price Radio:

I had forgotten about these tab buttons! These will be a nice addition to my collection!

I turned 11 years old in December 1976! So I remember the Bicentennial fairly well! It was a very patriotic year for sure! It is very exciting to have lived during the 200th birthday of our good old United States of America! Not everyone has the opportunity to celebrate a mark of one hundred years of our country’s birth! I am very fortunate to have lived through one, and to be old enough to understand and remember it!

I used to live in New Hampshire and miss it terribly! These next two tab buttons are from very well-known destinations in New Hampshire!

When I saw this book on Pinterest, I immediately recalled learning how to tell time using this book at home, when we lived in Melrose, Massachusetts! I was very young when we lived there; I believe I was age three when we moved there, and we moved away from there when I was about half way through second grade. I would have turned seven years old in December.

These are not vintage but represent vintage items. These are 1/12 scale (dollhouse-sized)“ box toys.” These boxes do not actually include the toys. These are only for display in a dollhouse. I like these because they take up very little space and they cost far less (typically under $5, mostly under $19) than vintage, full-sized toys and boxes! They are fun to collect! These can be found most commonly on Etsy and are sometimes made to order, so sometimes it takes a while to ship. They are also available on EBay but Etsy has more variety and availability.

Hope you enjoyed my collection! I can’t wait to post my next blog update!

Latest Arrival! Meet Parker!
