Tiny Nursery Update!

As mentioned in my most recent blog, we will be selling our current home and moving within a year to New Hampshire. Timing will either be this fall or next spring depending on the progress with our new construction of a log home on the property we purchased a couple of months ago in New Hampshire. I have been preparing for all of this by packing items we won’t need until after the move, selling items we don’t need or taking “junk” to the dump on our weekly runs.

I started dismantling my tiny nursery yesterday morning. I worked on it for a couple of hours before work and another couple of hours after work yesterday and worked on it some more for about an hour and so half before work and for about a half hour cumulatively during breaks from work. All goals have been achieved! Everything I wanted to pack has been packed! The trash for items I couldn’t keep such as wall decals, wallpaper in my miniature nursery, and some other non-salvageable items is down in the basement for the next dump run this weekend.

I had decided prior to this plan that I wanted to keep my Reborns unpacked and on display, and keep some items (a couple of outfits, magnetic pacifiers, head bands, shoes, blankets and bottles, plus their COAs (Certificates of Authenticity)) available for use in my little white night stand.

I also wanted to keep my little play pen there as it’s easy enough to move that later on. It folds up and has a carrying case that it fits into. I also packed up the cushioned pad in its carrying case and set it behind my little white night stand. I was going to pack up the vintage infant seat carrier in its original box but decided to continue to use it for Pickle. I definitely don’t want this vintage item getting damaged as it is extremely rare and is difficult, and costly to replace. So I decided to reduce the risk of damage to the seat and the original vintage box it came in (it’s from the 1960’s) by not packing it for now. It’s much safer where it is! So the box is also stored behind my white night stand. And I decided to leave my “boppy” pillow out for displaying my Kodi Bear girl! There are 2 runner rugs that I’m also leaving there for now for looks and for my comfort. I may leave them behind if the buyer if our home wants them there. But I will take my furry white rug with me, which I am also leaving in place for my Reborn display.

I will pack up my Reborns and all remaining items when the house goes on the market, as I don’t want potential buyers to see them during showings. I’ll likely leave the boxes that have my Reborns in them right there so they don’t get mixed up with all of the assorted moving boxes when we move. These boxes will go into my car and not into a moving truck when we move! But the other items that remain in my tiny nursery that get packed up at that time will be stored with the other 4 boxes that have already been packed.

Here is what it looks like now!

This was what it looked like before!

Back to here and now!

Storing the baby cushion pad in its case plus my vintage original box for my infant seat carrier here, behind my white night stand.

I just can’t believe everything I packed from my tiny nursery fit into 2 large and 2 medium boxes! I didn’t realize how many baby clothes/outfits I had! But just about all of the clothes, blankets, most hangers, one one fabric Moses bed, my vintage lamp (without lamp shade), and 2 vintage glass baby bottles fit into a medium box! I actually have 2 vintage lamp shades which are in one of the large boxes with multiple items plus a few baby clothes that were used to provide cushioning for them.

This is what my tiny nursery looked like before I started packing! That’s a lot of stuff!
