My Vinyl Doll, Nathan Andrew!

This is my one and only vinyl doll, Nathan Andrew. I purchased him before I found my silicone dolls! But he came from a scammer, unfortunately. Don’t know who the artist is, if he was actually painted by an artist that is. But he’s cute! 

I ordered this vinyl boy doll from a scammer. Didn’t know it at the time. It looked nothing like the photos. It’s still nice with nice artistry. But not at all what I had expected. Also, no birth certificate. I made one for him, above. Legitimate dolls, vinyl and silicone, come with some sort of certificate of authenticity. But I’m somewhat satisfied with him. 

After I got him, the sane store had a girl vinyl doll that I liked with this same “artist.” So I ordered it. But I never got it when it was supposed to arrive. I messaged the store for updates. Initially the store responded with updates. And then suddenly, nothing! And a few days later, the store was gone! I was fortunate! Etsy got me my refund! And I was scammed prior to this “artist” on one of those “Reborn Dolls” websites! And fortunately I had paid with a credit card so I got my money back on that! Never got my purchase! 

So, this is who I recommend!

So glad I found this artist! She sells primarily silicone dolls. But she does sell vinyl dolls too. But I never, ever thought I’d ever own one silicone doll, let alone three full body silicone dolls that I now have! This artist is able to sell them for less because the molds are not perfect. There are some lines from the edges of the mold. But they’re barely visible and the artist does a great job covering up the lines when she paints them! So, for the price, it’s so worth it! And this is why she sells them this way. To make full body silicone babies more affordable so more people can fulfill their dream of owning one! The artist is a sweetheart too! Always so nice! A huge pleasure to deal with! If you want an affordable full body silicone baby, this is where you go! Because there are A LOT of scammers on Etsy, as well as other websites and “stores!” If you want to shop around on Etsy, stay away from anyone who has not been selling these for very long, under a year for the most part. Also, only shop stores in the USA. Stay away UK, China, etc.! But, even USA stores you have to be careful of as people in other countries that are scammers use USA addresses for their stores. Also, scammers make their reviews look real. Or, they might actually sell legitimate products for a couple of months, to get real reviews. Then, suddenly, they start getting lots of orders, get their money, and close the store without delivering the product. They’re gone. But then they reopen as a new store, under a new name, and start all over again. You can tell by the posts because they’re using the same photos, descriptions, same artist write ups, etc. But, typically these scam “artists” are gone within a year. When people start figuring out they’re being scammed, the store closes. 

I believe Nathan might have been painted by an artist but not positive about that. He might have just been made in some typical doll factory too. But he’s not the typical vinyl dolls that you buy for children in a regular store. He appears to have been painted by someone. If he was actually hand-painted, I wish I knew who the artist is. If hand painted, the artist did a nice job. But I’ll never know because this doll was purchased from a scammer. I put the name of the store that the scammer claimed to be at the time of purchase on the birth certificate because that’s the only information I have available to me. He’s cute but I don’t have him displayed with my three silicone dolls. If he’s a fake and was made in a factory, and is not artistry, then he doesn’t belong with my collection. Unfortunately I’ll likely never know for sure. But he is really not collectible without any kind of certificate of authenticity with the name of an artist. So he’s not worth much. No more than any other vinyl doll on the shelf in a store. I’d be lucky to get $50 for him, and I think at the time, I paid around $350 plus tax plus shipping for him. Stupid! But that was a good price for a vinyl doll that was painted by an artist. Which, at the time, I didn’t realize I was not buying from a true artist, even though the store claimed to be an artist. I had to wait for about a month to get him because “the artist” claimed she needed to finish him and add his hair too. But I’ll never get that back. Lesson learned for sure! But he’s still cute so I’ll keep him and store him away for a while. Maybe someday I’ll have a granddaughter who will want him!
